Soundscapes, listening, sonic presence

I am developing a ambient sound artworks composed from my field recordings. Water is a recurring theme. I am making a sonic installation to give the feeling of being immersed in water, even in the absence of water.

I love kayaking the marsh and capturing the sound of the wind in the marsh grasses and the kerplunk of the driftwood meeting the docks. These sounds are reassuring and precise.

It is a perfect meditation. To listen. To exist. To tune into the subtleties of a place and take in only its sounds. I call it sonic presence.
